Parking lot/structure information

The present parking system includes eight structures and 44 surface lots, with a current capacity of approximately 13,000 spaces. This page contains a profile for each of the high-volume facilities in the system. 

Structure 1

Parking Structure 1 is the oldest of the eight structures in the WSU parking system. It was built in 1965. Located at 450 W. Palmer, between Cass and Anthony Wayne Drive at the north end of campus, it is also known as the Palmer Structure. It is a six-level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors with assigned and open parking. The structure has approximately 1,913 spaces available for parking. Gates 1 and 2 and designated for assigned faculty/staff use only. Access is controlled through WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers. Gates 3, 4 and 5 are designed for general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and Credit Card readers for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the facility. The hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. until midnight, Monday through Friday.

Structure 2

Parking Structure 2 was built in 1972. Located at 5150 Lodge Service Drive, bordered by Kirby Street and Anthony Wayne Drive, it is also known as the Manoogian Structure. It is a six-level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, residents, and visitors with assigned and open parking. The structure has approximately 2,045 spaces available. Gate 3 is designated for assigned faculty/staff use only. Access is controlled through WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers. Gates 2 and 4 are designed for general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and Credit Card readers for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the parking facility. This facility operates 24/7, including holidays.

Structure 3

Parking Structure 3 was built in 1977. Located at 45 E. Warren between Woodward and John R, it is also known as the Rackham Structure. It is a three-level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors with assigned and open parking. The structure has approximately 320 parking spaces and is the smallest of the eight parking structures. The parking structure has one entrance and exit located off of Warren Avenue and is designed for general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and Credit Card readers for visitors. The entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the facility. The hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. until 10:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Structure 4

Parking Structure 4 was built in 1978. Located at 555 E. Canfield at St. Antoine on the east side of campus in the medical center, it is also known as the Medical School Structure. It is an eight level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students and DMC staff with assigned parking only. The structure has approximately 1,200 available parking spaces. There are two entrance/exit gates. Access into this parking facility is restricted to assigned faculty/staff use only. Access is controlled through WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers. There is a nested parking area reserved for VIP parking. The hours of operation are from 5:45 a.m. until 12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Structure 5

Parking Structure 5 was built in 1987. Located at 5501 Anthony Wayne Drive bordered by the Lodge Service Drive and Kirby across from Structure 2, it is also known as the Anthony Wayne Drive Structure. It is a four-level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors with assigned and open parking. The structure has approximately 1,076 spaces available in the structure and 142 surface spaces. There are two entrance/exit gates available for customer use. One is located on Anthony Wayne Drive and the other on Kirby Street. Both entrance/exits are designed for general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and Credit Card readers for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the parking facility. The hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. until midnight, Monday through Friday.

Structure 6

Parking Structure 6 was built in 2001. Located at 61 Putnam between Woodward and Cass, it is also known as the Welcome Center Garage. Centrally located on campus, it is our only premium parking garage. It is a six-level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors with assigned and open parking. The structure has approximately 705 available parking spaces. The structure features a separate area for visitor parking, with a ticket-spitter and cashier booth at the exit. Generally the visitor parking area has 55 parking spaces; however, the spaces can be adjusted when necessary. Access into the general parking area can be gained via Palmer Street using a WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and Credit Card readers for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the facility. The hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. until midnight, Monday through Friday.

Structure 7

Parking Structure 7 is located at 3717 John R at the corner of Mack Avenue. It is also known as the Pharmacy Structure. It is an aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors with assigned and open parking. This structure is managed by a third-party parking management company based on a contract between the developer and WSU. The structure has approximately 954 spaces available for parking, of which 500 are dedicated to WSU. There are four entrance gates and four exit gates; two gates have reversible lanes. Each entry lane accommodates WSU OneCard Assigned, WSU OneCard Debit and a ticket-spitter with payment at exit for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the parking customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard) to enter or exit the facility. The hours of operation are 24/7; however, the structure is only staffed from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise needed. The rest of the space is used for the residents of the Ellington, DMC and the general public.

Structure 8

Parking Structure 8 was built in 2008. Located at 91 W. Forest between Woodward and Cass, adjacent to Studio One apartments and University Towers, it is also known as the Forest Structure. It is a four-level aboveground parking deck accessible to faculty, staff, students, University Towers and Studio One residents, guests and visitors with assigned and open parking. There are two entrance/exit gates available for customer use. One is located on Forest Street and the other on the University Towers side (Cass Street). Both entrance/exits are designed for general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit, and ticket-spitters for visitors with pay-on-foot kiosks and one cashier booth (if necessary) for payment. Payments at the pay-on-foot kiosks can be made via cash or credit card. All entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag) to enter or exit the facility. If a customer uses the ticket-spitter, the ticket must be processed via the pay-on-foot kiosk before exiting. This facility operates 24/7, including holidays.

Lot 13

Lot 13 is located at 35 Burroughs at Woodward Avenue. It is also known as the C&IT/Public Safety Lot. It is a paved lot accessible to faculty, staff and residents of New Amsterdam Lofts with assigned parking. The lot has 131 available parking spaces. There are two entrance and exit gates where customers are required to swipe-in and swipe-out to exit. Both entrance/exits are designed for assigned parking only, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers. All entrance and exit gates require the parking customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard or RFID hangtag) to enter or exit the facility. The hours of operation are 24/7, including holidays.

Lot 41

Lot 41 is located at 5211 Anthony Wayne Drive, directly in front of Parking Structure 2. It is also known as the Anthony Wayne Surface Lot. It is a paved lot accessible to assigned faculty/staff and general parking. Access is controlled through WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and credit card readers for visitors. Entrance and exit gates require the customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the facility. The lot has approximately 197 available parking spaces. The hours of operation are 24/7 for the individuals assigned there and from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m. seven days a week for commuters.

Lot 50

Lot 50 is located at 1200 W. Warren between Trumbull and the Lodge Service Drive. It is also known as the Matthaei Lot. The lot has approximately 601 spaces available for parking. It is a paved lot accessible to faculty, staff, students, guests and visitors. This lot is often used for athletic events. There are two entrance and exit gates for this parking lot located on Warren Avenue and the Lodge Service Drive. Both gates are designed for general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard Debit and credit card readers for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the parking customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the parking facility. The lot operates seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Lot 75

Lot 75 is located at 545 E. Canfield between Brush and St. Antoine, adjacent to Parking Structure 4. It is also known as the Medical School Lot. It is a paved lot accessible to faculty, staff, students, DMC employees and visitors. The lot has approximately 617 available parking spaces. There are two entrance gates and exit gates, both located off Canfield Street. Both gates are designed for assigned and general parking, WSU OneCard Assigned and RFID Readers, WSU OneCard debit and credit card readers for visitors. All entrance and exit gates require the parking customer to use an active/approved access device (WSU OneCard, RFID hangtag or credit card) to enter or exit the facility. The lot operates 24/7.
