What do I need to do/bring to sign up for parking?
Residents living in Wayne State University housing should bring a copy of their lease or room assignment and OneCard to the Parking/OneCard office located on the second floor of the Welcome Center.
Wayne State University commuter students should bring their OneCard to the Parking/OneCard office located on the second floor of the Welcome Center.
I live in Wayne State University housing and have visitors coming to see me. Can they park for free? How do they get a permit?
No, visitors do not park for free.
Visitors must purchase a temporary parking permit for $4.25 from the front desk of the residence that they are visiting.
How many locations can I have?
Only one parking assignment allowed per student on the Wayne State University main campus.
How do I park in another parking area on campus other than my designated/assigned area?
If you choose to park somewhere other than your assigned parking area, you can gain access by using your OneCard and the cost of the structure/lot will be deducted from your OneCard.
What should I do if my assigned parking area is full?
If you pull into a parking area and the sign reads “full,” please note that this is for the general parking area and not the assigned parking area. If your assigned area happens to be full, please see the nearest parking attendant for assistance.
How do I change my assigned parking area?
Please contact the Parking/OneCard office at (313) 576-PARK or stop by the Parking/OneCard office on the second floor of the Welcome Center to check availability of other assigned parking locations.
Can I sell or give my assigned parking pass to another WSU student?
No, you cannot sell or give your assigned parking pass to another Wayne State University student.
What do I do if I lose my assigned parking hang tag?
Please visit the Parking/OneCard office located on the second floor of the Welcome Center for a replacement tag. Please note that there is a $10 replacement fee.
What do I do if I forgot my OneCard and need to park my car?
If you have assigned parking, please show your permit (hang tag) to the parking attendant for one-day courtesy access.
If you do not have assigned parking, you must pay cash ($4.25 in dollar bills or quarters) to enter the facility, if the facility takes cash.
When I get a new OneCard, will my parking transfer?
Yes, your parking assignment(s) will transfer. If your banner or Wayne State University ID number changes please notify the Parking/OneCard office at the time of replacement.
How do I cancel my parking?
Complete the Cancellation Form and bring it to the Parking/OneCard office located on the second floor of the Welcome Center with your parking permit (hang tag).

Parking rates are listed by the semester:
General: $200, Premium: $280 for premium parking.

Premium parking is parking that is in high demand due to its close proximity to facilities.

What do I need to do/bring to sign up for parking?
Please bring your faculty/staff IDcard or OneCard and a copy of your income verification sheet or your letter of offer (new employees only) to the Parking/OneCard office on the second floor of the Welcome Center.
Please note that part-time faculty and staff are not eligible for payroll deductions and parking fees must be paid in advance with cash, check or money order made out to Wayne State University or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
I have visitors coming to see a program in my department. Can they park for free? How do they get a permit?
No, visitors do not park for free.
Guest and visitors parking for one day do not need permits. Your department can purchase one-time guest passes through the Parking/OneCard office on the second floor of the Welcome Center prior to your guest’s arrival.
Your department can also reserve an entire parking structure or lot if the space is available. Please contact the Parking/OneCard office at (313) 576-PARK to set up structure/lot reservations.
Can I add another location to my parking pass? Does it cost me anything?
Yes, you can add another location to your parking pass. It will not cost extra, unless the second location you choose is a premium parking area.
How many locations can I have?
You may choose up to three parking locations on campus. Additional parking locations are assigned based on job requirements and availability. Under most circumstances, no more than two parking locations are assigned to an individual.
How do I add another parking area or change my assigned parking area?
Please contact the Parking/OneCard office at (313) 576-PARK and the change can be done over the phone.
If you choose to add a premium parking area to your parking pass, please e-mail Ashley Rice at ap7878@wayne.edu to authorize an increase in payroll deductions.
