2013 Thanksgiving Holiday Shuttle and Parking Information
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Wayne State University will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28 & 29, 2013. During this time WSU shuttle service will be closed and parking services will be limited. Holiday parking hours are as follows:
Thursday, November 28, Thanksgiving Day/Thanksgiving Day Parade Parking:
The following parking structures and lots will be open* to the general public from 5am – 12 noon, at a cost of $5.00 per vehicle:
Parking Structure 1 – 450 West Palmer
Parking Structure 2 – 5150 Lodge Service Drive (Note: Structure 2 is open 24/7)
Parking Structure 3 – 45 E. Warren
Parking Structure 7 – 3717 John R.
Parking Structure 8 – 91 West Forest (Note: Structure 8 is open 24/7. Individuals with active parking assignments to this facility will still have access)
Lot 56 – 50 W. Hancock
Lot 57 – 237 E. Hancock
Lot 59a – S/E corner John R. and Warren
Lot 60 – 4710 Second
Lot 70 – 4441 Cass Ave.
Lot 71 – 410 W. Canfield
Lot 72 – 4510 Cass Ave.
Lot 75 – 545 E. Canfield (Note: lot 75 will be open to accommodate individuals with active parking assignments to Parking Structure 4)
For individuals with active parking assignments for any location, parking will be available in PS#2 at no additional charge. You must have your current RFID hangtag for access. To park anywhere else you are subject to the $5.00 charge. (Note: This is standard procedure for all weekends and holidays)
*Parking Structures 5 and 6, as well as Lots 11, 12, 15, 32 and 33 will also be open Thanksgiving Day, however they have been reserved and require special Parade Parking Passes for access.
Friday, November 29:
Parking Structure 6 will be open 7am - 6pm.
Parking Structure 7 will be open 6am - 6pm.
Parking Structures 2 and 8 will remain open 24/7.
Lot 75 – 545 E. Canfield (Will be open to accommodate individuals with active parking assignments to Parking Structure 4)
All other parking structures will be closed and surface lots will operate as usual. They can be accessed during their regular posted hours via OneCard assigned parking, OneCard debit, credit card or cash where available.
Saturday and Sunday, November 30 and December 1:
Parking Structure 7 will be open 9am-9pm.
Parking Structures 2 and 8 will remain open 24/7.
All other parking structures will be closed and surface lots will operate as usual. They can be accessed during their regular posted hours via OneCard assigned parking, OneCard debit, credit card or cash where available.
All parking structures, lots and shuttle services will resume normal operating hours and days beginning Monday, December 2.
