2017-2018 Parking Rates Announced
On June 23, 2017, the Board of Governors approved the proposed parking rates for the 2017-18 academic year consistent with Parking & Transportation Services’ Business Plan.
Beginning fall 2016, the university launched a pilot program to provide incoming freshman with semester parking passes at no additional charge during the 2016-17 academic year. Going forward and in place of the pilot project, the university will provide $1 million from the General Fund to partially offset the cost of student semester parking permits. Student semester parking pass rates have been reduced by 25 percent for the 2017-18 academic year over the rate originally planned for this fall. Other parking rates for daily cash, visitor and faculty/staff semester passes increase by a range of approximately 2.7 to 3.6 percent.
Parking fees for 2017-18 reflect our priorities of controlling rates for student and permit parkers while investing in our facilities and technology to enhance the campus parking experience. Our pricing model is built to encourage frequent student parkers to purchase unlimited-access semester permits, and we are continuing to offer low-cost parking locations for students, faculty and staff.
New parking rates will go into effect Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Some of the common rates are below. For all rates including individual locations, please visit parking.wayne.edu.
Students & Part-Time Faculty: Parking passes are now available for purchase by visiting go.wayne.edu/myparking and following the instructions on the website.
Nine and Twelve Month Faculty/Staff: To sign up for payroll deduction please complete the following online form: https://forms.wayne.edu/parking-new-assignment/ or visit the OneCard/Parking Service Center located in room 257 of the Welcome Center. Payroll deduction changes for enrolled faculty/staff will be reflected in the August 23, 2017 pay (PP#17).
Note: Due to high demand for parking, we recommend purchasing your parking pass early to obtain your preferred parking facility/lot.
In addition, starting on August 21, 2017 parking structure #1 will now be open 24 hours each day, all seven days each week. As student housing on and near campus continues to grow, this additional overnight structure is needed to accommodate our students.
