2024 holiday closure parking hours
Wayne State University will be closed Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 1, 2025, as well as Jan. 20, 2025. During this time, Parking and Transportation Services will have reduced parking availability. Please reference the below list for changes in hours of operation for certain parking structures.
Structures 1, 2 and 8
- Open 24 hours a day during the closure.
Structure 3
- Closed Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 1, 2025.
- Closed Jan. 20, 2025 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).
- Patrons can use Lot 56 or Structure 2 during the closure.
Structure 4
- Closed Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 1, 2025.
- Closed Jan. 20, 2025 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).
- Patrons can use Lot 75 during the closure.
Structure 5
- Closed Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 1, 2025.
- Closed Jan. 20, 2025 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).
- Patrons can use Structure 2 during the closure.
Structure 6
- Closed Dec. 25, 2024, through Jan. 1, 2025.
- Closed Jan. 20, 2025 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).
- Patrons can use Lot 56 or Structure 2 during the closure.
Structure 7*
- Open normal hours, from 5:30 a.m. until midnight, Dec. 24, 2025, through Jan. 1, 2025. Please note that pedestrian doors will be locked at midnight. To gain access, you may use WSU OneCard or your ticket.
*Structure 7 will be staffed from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 26 through Dec. 31, 2024. If you need assistance, please press the intercom in the lane or dial 650-889-5077 to reach a Metropolis staff member.
Surface parking lots
- Assigned and student surface lots will operate as normal throughout the closure and will be closed from 1 to 6 a.m., except for Lot 75, which is open 24/7. You must have a current permit to park from 1 to 6 a.m.
Keep in mind that WSU parking violation enforcement policies and practices remain in effect throughout the holiday closure. Please be sure to park in designated areas and spaces.
All parking facilities will resume normal hours of operation beginning Jan. 2, 2025.
As a reminder, fall semester parking permits expire Dec. 31, 2024. Winter 2025 semester parking passes are on sale now. We encourage you to purchase a winter 2025 parking pass as soon as possible to prevent any difficulty with acquiring your preferred location. Please note that Structure 6 (Welcome Center Garage) is currently sold out for the winter 2025 semester.
