On Thursday, June 22, 2023, the Board of Governors approved parking rates for the 2023-24 academic year.

Parking rates have not increased since August 2019. The updated rates continue to reflect priorities of controlling rates for student and employees while investing in the upkeep, maintenance and technology of our facilities. 

New parking rates go into effect Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023. Some of the more common rates are below. For all rates, including individual locations, please visit parking.wayne.edu.

Rates for the Mike Ilitch School of Business are reflective of the increases in the arena district, as Wayne State does not own or operate parking near the Ilitch School of Business. One alternative to parking at the Ilitch School is to park on main campus and take advantage of the WayneRides program, which allows students and employees to ride public transportation (DDOT, SMART, QLine) for free to and from the Mike Ilitch School of Business.

Beginning today, Monday, July 3, 2023, students, faculty, staff and part-time employees — including Mike Ilitch School of Business students and personnel — who pay by semester and do not receive payroll deductions can purchase their 2023 fall semester parking permit online (valid Aug. 21 - Dec. 31, 2023). 

Housing residents are required to purchase a semester parking pass and participate in the assigned parking program to park in a facility overnight.

All credit cards, debit cards and check sales must be completed online. Please contact the OneCard/Parking Service Center at 313-577-CARD (2273) or email Parking Services at parking@wayne.edu if you cannot pay online. The OneCard/Parking Service Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Make an appointment online.

Please note: Due to high demand for some parking facilities, we recommend purchasing your parking pass early to obtain your preferred parking facility/lot.
