Parking Construction Updates

Parking and Transportation is on the Move!

Lot 31 (FAB) – As of Monday September 10, 2012 lot 31 will be fully operational. The parking equipment island was redesigned to improve traffic flow into the parking lot and Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) have been installed which now provide hands-free access into the parking area for assigned patrons. Some touch up work will still be done, however this work should not affect the operations of the lot.

The Pay-in-Lane device was replaced with an ExpressParc system. Visitors will still take a ticket to enter the lot, however to exit they will enter their ticket into the machine which will read the magnetic stripe ticket on exit and only accept payment by credit card, bank issued debit card or validated parking tickets. Cash is no longer accepted at Parking Lot #31.

Lots 40 and 50 (Matthaei) – Both lots were paved, striped and had new parking equipment installed over the summer and are open for use. There is some final touch up work still occurring at each lot, however the lots are fully functional with new gates, Onecard equipment, credit card entry/exit and RFID technology.

Parking Structure #1 - Structural repairs are scheduled to continue through October. Typically this parking structure does not fill, nevertheless if per chance the structure does go full, parking staff will be in place to redirect traffic to lots 11 and 15 just north of I-94 on the west and east sides of Cass avenue respectively.

The main student entrance (gate 3) and the north assigned staff entrance/exit (gate #1) will remain closed throughout construction. Gate 2 (assigned only) as well as gates 4 and 5 (student/visitor) will be open and allow access to the facility. Traffic will be redirected on the upper levels to go around the construction areas.

Parking Services apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates your patience and cooperation during the construction. These needed repairs and updates will help us provide a safe and pleasant parking experience. Please drive safe throughout the structure, use your headlights, for your safety please obey posted signs and stay clear of barricaded areas.
