Parking on campus throughout the holiday closure
Wayne State University will be closed from Dec. 25, 2023, through Jan. 1, 2024, and again on Monday, Jan.15, 2024. Please note that during this time, Parking and Transportation Services will have limited parking available. Please reference the list below for dates and times the structures will be closed. Structure 2 will be open for parking throughout the university closure for anyone normally assigned to any facility listed below as closed.
Parking Structures 1, 2 and 8
- OPEN 24 hours a day throughout the holidays and closure
Parking Structure 3
- CLOSED, 12/23/23-1/1/24
- CLOSED, 1/15/24 (MLK Day)
- Patrons can use Lot 56 or Parking Structure 2 while closed
Parking Structure 4
- CLOSED, 12/23/23-1/1/24
- CLOSED, 1/15/24 (MLK Day)
- Patrons can use Lot 75 while closed
Parking Structure 5
- CLOSED, 12/23/23-1/1/24

- Patrons can use Parking Structure 2 while closed
Parking Structure 6

Parking Structure 7*
Open normal hours:
- OPEN normal hours, 12/24/23-1/1/24, 5:30 a.m.-12 a.m.; the pedestrian doors will be locked at 12 a.m. To gain access, you may use WSU OneCard or your ticket.
*Parking Structure 7 will be staffed from 1:30 p.m.-10 p.m. from 12/24/23-1/1/24. If assistance is needed, you may press the intercom in the lane or dial Metropolis’s float manager at 313-806-2903.
Surface parking lots
All assigned and student surface lots will operate as normal throughout the closure and will be closed from 1 a.m.-6 a.m., with the exception of Lot 75 which is open 24/7.
*All parking facilities will resume normal hours beginning Jan. 2, 2024.
Note: WSU citation enforcement policies and practices will continue throughout the holiday closure. Please park in designated parking areas and spaces.
As a reminder, fall semester parking ends on December 31, 2023 and winter semester parking is on sale now. Purchase early to avoid an interruption in service and potentially losing the parking location you prefer. Purchase winter 2024 parking pass.
