Parking Rate Increase Effective August 1, 2013
Dear WSU Students, Faculty, Staff and Campus Community,
Consistent with the Parking & Transportation Services’ Five-Year Business Plan, the Board of Governors at their June 26, 2013 meeting approved the proposed parking rates for the 2013-14 academic year. All rates will increase $0.25 per day except the daily casual cash/credit card/non-student OneCard debit rates for non-permit holders which will increase $0.50 per day. (The casual rate was actually increased less than the approved business plan increase of $1 for the coming year.) These new rates continue our commitment to repair and maintain our facilities, to expand Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) access, and to implement technologies for parking management, video surveillance, and remote parker services through audio/video monitoring at all parking exits. Parking fees for 2013-14 continue to reflect our priorities of controlling rates on WSU Student and Permit parkers, movement toward market parking rates where appropriate, the encouragement of frequent parkers to purchase semester permits with RFID access to reduce waiting times for all parkers, and the continuation of low-cost and free parking options for the campus community.
New parking rates will be effective Monday, August 1st, 2013. The most common rates are listed in the chart below. For all other rates not shown, including individual locations, please visit the Parking website at www.parking.wayne.edu . Payroll deduction changes for enrolled faculty/staff will occur on the August 28, 2013 pay.
