Parking Services Spring/Summer Construction Projects
In our ongoing efforts to provide well-maintained parking facilities, Parking and Transportation Services, together with Facilities Planning and Management, are continuing with the repairs/maintenance work necessary in parking structures 1 and 4 this summer.
Parking Structure #1: Work will begin May 2, 2013 and is scheduled to be completed towards by the end of October. This year’s project will improve the floor slabs on levels 2 and 3 of the east bays as well as other concrete and expansion joint repairs. To ensure the work can be done in a safe and efficient manner, Gates #1 and #2 (for faculty and staff) will be closed and all assigned parkers will be directed to use other available entrance/exit gates. Also, Gate #4 will be closed for approximately 30 days in May/June for drive lane, parking island renovation and installation of new gate equipment.
Parking Structure #4: Work will begin May 1, 2013 and is scheduled to be completed prior to the start of the Medical School’s fall 2013 semester. This project consists of traffic coating repairs, expansion joint repairs, concrete repairs and additional structural repairs throughout the facility. A maximum of 200 spaces will be barricaded at any given time throughout the structure.
For your safety, please pay attention to all construction signage and barricades, drive into the parking structures with your headlights on and be extremely cautious through any rerouted traffic areas.
We apologize in advance for the inconvenience these projects may cause; however we look forward to the long term benefits of the ongoing repairs and maintenance. If you have any questions, please contact Parking and Transportation Services at parking@wayne.edu or 313-576-PARK (7275).
