Renovation of Parking Lot #54 to Begin August 6th
Parking and Transportation is on the Move again!
Parking Lot #54’s (Old Main) Entrance/Exit is being renovated beginning Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Renovation of the parking lot entrance/exit will include replacement of drive lanes and equipment island with new gate equipment installed. The objective of this project is to enhance the appearance of the parking lot entrance, replace out dated equipment and install new Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) readers to improve operational performance.
During this time, everyone currently assigned to park in lot #54 is asked to park in either Parking Structure #6, Located at 61 Putnam just north of the Welcome Center, or in Parking lot #60 located at 4710 Second Avenue on the northwest corner of Cass and Forest. The entrance to lot #60 is on Cass and exit is on Second Ave. Temporary access to both these locations has been added to all individuals currently assigned to lot #54.
The Project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete and be reopen Monday, August 19, 2013. Once the project is complete you will be able to enter and exit the lot utilizing your RFID hangtag. As a backup, the OneCard readers will be reinstalled. Once the lot reopens, in order for your RFID hangtag/OneCard to work properly, they will have to be used in sequence, in then out with no multiple entrances or exits.
We apologize for the inconvenience, however we look forward to the improvements and ask that you please call the OneCard/Parking Service Center at 576-PARK (7275) with any questions or concerns.
