Spring/Summer Parking Construction Projects

We are pleased to announce that as part of our continuing parking improvement efforts, repair work at Parking Structure #4 will begin on April 16, 2018 with the other construction projects beginning on or soon after May 1. We apologize for the inconvenience, however look forward to the long term benefits of the ongoing repairs and enhancements. For your safety, please pay attention to all construction signage, barricades and traffic cones. Enter the parking structures and lots with your headlights on and be extremely cautious through the re-routed traffic areas. Construction workers will be frequently traveling throughout the parking facilities. For worker's safety, please pay attention to construction equipment and personnel as they work to improve our parking facilities.

2018 Spring/Summer Parking Projects

Structure #2: Concrete patching and waterproofing work in localized areas throughout the structure. 400 parking spaces to be closed for the majority of May thru August. Intermittent stair tower closures to occur one stair tower at a time.

The elevator doors will be replaced on each landing and cab. New door frames, sills and fascia inside the hoistway will be installed. The intent is to keep one elevator open for normal use during construction.

Structure #4: Concrete patching , post tensioning repairs, expansion joint replacement, and other waterproofing work throughout the the structure. Up to 400 spaces will be closed during daytime hours as of April 16 thru early August. Intermittent stair tower closures will occur one stair tower at a time.

The elevators will be redone and include new mechanical infrastructure, electronics and software. The intent is to keep one elevator open for normal use at all times. However, if not, PTS personnel will be able to drive individuals to their vehicles if necessary.

Structure #6: Concrete patching, joint sealant replacement and other waterproofing work throughout the structure. Stair and elevator towers to remain open for normal use at all times.   

Structure #7: New parking software and equipment will be installed including Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) readers which will reduce the need for assigned parkers to swipe their OneCards.

Structure #8: Water drainage will be rerouted from the the south west elevator pit to the storm drain. Small amount of sidewalk replacement required. Elevator will be down intermittently.

Lot #51 and #52: The two lots will be combined using the alleys off both Warren and Anthony Wayne Drive (Third Street) as the new ingress and egress areas. New drive lanes, islands and parking equipment will be installed with OneCard Assigned and Debit, Credit Card, RFID and intercom. The metered spaces will be removed and paid spaces incorporated into the reconfigured lot.

Lot #53: New entry/exit drive lanes, islands and parking equipment will be installed with OneCard Assigned and Debit, Credit Card, RFID and intercom. The metered spaces will be removed and paid spaces incorporated into the lot.

Lot #57: New entry/exit drive lanes, islands and parking equipment will be installed with OneCard Assigned and Debit, Express Park Ticket Spitter and exit Credit Card payment station, RFID and intercom. New departmental validation program will be available and all intercom related calls will go to PTS's 24/7 Command Center.

Lot #75: Lot will be repaved in two sections allowing for half the lot to be available throughout the construction.

In addition to these, there will be numerous other projects ongoing including grading, asphalt repairs, painting, striping, power washing just to name a few.
