Temporary parking adjustments April 25-27

Dear Wayne State University community,

This week, Detroit is proudly hosting the 2024 NFL Draft. This exciting event presents a unique opportunity to showcase the best of our city by welcoming thousands of visitors. Considering the expected influx of guests, the City of Detroit has sought Wayne State University's assistance with parking and transportation.

We want to keep the Wayne State community informed of temporary adjustments to parking arrangements April 25-27. Please be assured that WSU students, faculty, staff and visitors will be given priority access, and efforts have been made to ensure that everyone can park in their preferred structure or lot.

Throughout the NFL Draft, Structure 1 (450 W. Palmer) will offer over 1,000 parking spaces to the public . If Structure 1 reaches capacity, WSU Parking and Transportation Services staff will direct vehicles to Structure 5 (5501 Anthony Wayne Drive) or Structure 2 (5150 Lodge Service Drive) if necessary.

Charter buses will be stationed at Structure 1 — positioned west of the entrances/exits near Second Avenue — to facilitate the transportation of attendees to and from events. Shuttle service hours are as follows:

    • Thursday, April 25: 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
    • Friday, April 26: 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
    • Saturday, April 27: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Additionally, WSU is extending its Park and Ride service with the QLine for $5 per entry at Lot 12 (6050 Woodward Ave.).

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we help with this national event. Should you have any questions or need further information, please contact the OneCard/Parking Service Center at 313-577-CARD (2273) or parking@wayne.edu.
