Upcoming construction at Structure #5, 5501 Anthony Wayne Drive

Beginning March 8, 2024, PS#5 will undergo a significant restoration project which is anticipated to last through mid-August 2024.

The project will involve various repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the structure including:

    • Structural concrete floor slab, column, beam, tee stem, and wall repairs.
    • Floor joint sealant replacement.
    • Waterproofing membrane installation.
    • Stair tower masonry and door/frame repairs.

In addition to these repairs, up to 400 parking spaces may be closed throughout the project to complete additional work, with the remainder of the spaces staying open for parking.  During the repairs of the stair towers, one stair tower will be closed at a time, and the elevators will remain in operation.  While under construction, we ask you to use either the other stairway or elevators.

Elevator closure during spring break

During Spring Break, Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15, both elevators will be shut down and the elevator lobby area on the first level will be blocked off for repairs. The area will be reopened, and elevators will be back in service, on Monday, March 18.

Safety precautions

For your safety, please pay attention to all construction signage and barricades, drive into the structure with your headlights on and be extremely cautious through any rerouted traffic areas.  Please observe any barriers/barricades as these areas are closed for your safety.  Construction workers will be frequently traveling throughout the parking facilities. Pay attention to construction equipment and trades as they work to improve our parking facilities.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete the project as quickly as possible. We also look forward to the long-term benefits of the maintenance and repairs being done and apologize in advance for any inconvenience it may cause.
