The university will be closed from Dec. 24, 2021, through Jan. 2, 2022, and then again on Jan. 17. Please note that during this time, Parking and Transportation Services will be open as listed below, and all lighting in the parking structures that are closed will be turned off with the exception of stairwells, elevator towers, and nightlights. Structure 2 will be available throughout closure for anyone assigned to a parking facility that is closed. In addition, the Mike Ilitch School of Business's express shuttle will only run until Tuesday, Dec. 21. It will resume regular operations on Jan. 10, 2022. The shuttle also will not operate on Jan. 17 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

• Patrons can use Lot 56 or Parking Structure 2 when Parking Structure 3 is closed

• 1/17 CLOSED (MLK Day)
• Patrons can use Lot #75 when Parking Structure 4 is closed

Parking Structure 5

• 12/24-1/2 CLOSED
• 1/17 CLOSED (MLK Day)
• Patrons can use Parking Structure 2 or Parking Structure 1 when Parking Structure 5 is closed

Parking Structure 6

• 12/24-1/2 CLOSED
• 1/17 CLOSED (MLK Day)
• Patrons can use Lot 56 or Parking Structure 2 when Parking Structure 6 is closed

Parking Structure 7*

Open normal hours:

• 12/24-1/2 OPEN 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; the pedestrian door will be locked at 10:30 p.m.
  • NOTE: On Dec. 31, the structure will be OPEN from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
• 1/17 OPEN 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; the pedestrian door will be locked at 10:30 p.m.

*Parking Structure 7 will not be staffed on 12/24, 12/25, 12/31, 1/1, and 1/17.  If assistance is needed, contact the float manager at 313-806-2903.

Surface parking lots

All assigned and student surface lots will operate as normal throughout the closure and will be closed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., with the exception of Lot 75.

* All parking facilities will resume normal hours beginning Jan. 3, 2022. 

Note: WSU citation enforcement policies and practices will continue throughout the holiday closure.

Mike Ilitch School of Business shuttle services

All shuttle services will operate as scheduled through Dec. 21.

• 12/24-1/9 No shuttle service
• 1/10 Mike Ilitch School of Business shuttles will resume their regular schedule with one shuttle operating from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., Monday-Thursday
• 1/17 No shuttle service
